Drew turns 1!

Aren't I winning the Mom of the year award with all my posts? :-) Not.

Drew turned one in September. He is a joy. He is a Mama's boy. He has the most hilarious laugh. He has my chubby cheeks. He loves his big brother. He is different than Carter. He likes to growl like a monster. He has 12, maybe more, teeth. He started walking between 13-14 months. We love him so.

Santa 2013

Running into Santa and the Mrs. at Costco.

Drew didn't like Santa all that much. And it was past nap time. :-(

The Wizard of Oz

Carter was in his first play, The Wizard of Oz, at his new school this summer. He was a citizen of Emerald City and did simply amazing! He sang, did the moves, and everything. I am so proud of him. It was the cutest thing ever.

See the You Tube video link. The citizens of emerald city come in around minute 25. Carter is the third from the left.

Below is Carter at 9 months and Drew at 10.5. They are such sweet baby boys.

Drew got six teeth pretty fast, and now we found out he has 3, maybe 4 molars coming in. He is hurting quite a bit and growing up fast.

Carter has one more week left of his fun filled summer days at Grace. Then he starts PK 4. He has improved so much in swimming and got a super swimmer certificate for completing his summer lessons. He also has mastered the monkey bars since they go to the park two, sometimes three, times a week. He has the blisters and calluses to prove it. Proud of this monkey.

Where does the time go?

Sawtooth Relay - Third round

I had the privilege to by part of the six, now kind of seven, sweaty chicks sawtooth relay team again this year! We added a team member because of all the injuries that snuck up on us. One was recovering from knee surgery, one had a stress fracture, and one had a hurt calf. The "healthy" runners, including me, were quite nervous on each leg our "injured" team mates ran, but as usual, they kicked ass and needed absolutely no subbing or help. We've got a tough group of chicks!

I was lucky enough to draw to run the first leg. It was my all time FAVORITE! Never have I enjoyed a run so much while watching the sun rise. However, running the first leg meant I also had to run leg 7. All downhill. From 1,400 feet in elevation all the way down to flat. Running downhill is SO FREAKING HARD!! My legs were so so so soar the next day/week. I envy those that are good at running downhill. I am not one of them. I actually think I might prefer running uphill. Deb asked if she could trade me legs and I'm thinking because of leg 7, she can have it back next time. But, I would miss leg one very very much.

 Safety first!

Yep, Rachel is amazing. She can do a cartwheel while running up a gigantic mountain. She has it all!

Way to go ladies and THANKS for letting me part of the 6, now 7, sweaty wonder chicks. Erin, you are an excellent addition to our team! Rachel and Deb are masters at coming up with our uniforms. I've never worn cooler socks in my life!

Spinderella

I rode 50 miles in the spinderella ladies only bike ride this year with my good friend Bobbie. It was VERY fun and a good motivation to ride my new road bike. We finished in just over 3 hours. The weather couldn't have been more perfect that morning.

Updates

I should be posting WAY more than this, but I've got no time.

What about me? I've been running a decent amount getting ready for the sawtooth relay on June 8. This will be the third round for six sweaty chicks. I can't wait!

I also signed up for a fun group bike ride coming up on June 15. Spindarella 50 mile here I come. I got a new road bike named Ruby and I hope she'll help me along the way.

I ran the law day 10K fun run last weekend and got 3rd in the older ladies (35-39) division. :-) It was a really nice run and a great event (donuts and frozen yogurt after-oh yes!).

Drew has 5 teeth (three on top and two on the bottom) at 7.5 months!! He'll be asking for a pb&j sandwich before we know it.

Drew's eyes are finally clear. No more blocked tear duct! This is very exciting! Aren't his blue eyes beautiful?

Carter got a new haircut. He looks like a different kid. So grown up. I love his hair long and short! Carter got a new bike for his 4 year old birthday!

Carter started soccer. He likes it ok. Sometimes more, mostly less. It sure is cute!
