Red rover, red rover, Carter rolled over!
Carter rolled over today for the very first time, from tummy to back. We all knew he was getting close, but it was so exciting to see him do it several times. He was so excited and proud of himself after he did it and then of course we gave him praises a million times over, which made him even more happy.
These are such amazing times. I love parenthood.

¡Five Months!
They call me Carter Jackson and I turned five months old on the 14th day of September. I can now sit in a highchair and like to eat rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes (yum yum-my FAV!), peas, apples, and pears. I am such a big boy! I am almost sitting up, but not quite yet without support. I can't quite roll over, but I'm getting better at tummy time and am holding my head up really well. I LOVE books mom and dad read to me, especially the touch and feel ones...I usually try and eat them too. Yep, everything that I grab goes in my mouth, including my toes. My mom says I have an infectious giggle. Its true. Life is funny!
Glacier National Park
So, at the last minute (cuz that's how we seem to roll), we decided to make the drive to Glacier National Park for Labor Day weekend, which is approximately 500 miles away from Pocatello. With our two dogs and almost five month old son. Yes, we are crazy! But, we were so excited to visit somewhere we both had never been. And, Carter is such a good boy, we knew we could do it! We left on Saturday morning and made it to Columbia Falls, Montana, after stopping many times so I could feed Carter, and so the dogs could get out and go to the bathroom and stretch their legs, and stopping to get gas, etc., about 9 hours later. We stayed at the nicest little cabin (pet friendly) at the North Forty Resort. It was an amazing place. It was clean, cozy, and very well taken care of. It had a nice nature trail in the area and was quiet and beautiful. They even provided a nice, clean, sturdy crib for our Carter boy to sleep in.
On Sunday morning, Jason rode his bike into West Glacier and Carter and I picked him up later that morning and we started our trek through the park. It was so beautiful. We entered West Glacier and drove the Going-to-the-Sun Road to Saint Mary's at the East Glacier entrance. We got some amazing pictures and all three of us drove and rode with our mouth's open in awe of the beauty. I loved all the waterfalls. When Carter was awake, we rolled his window down and he loved looking out at everything so much he would cry when we rolled it up. I kept telling him we were going to see the three bears...a mama bear, a papa bear, and a baby bear. And, sure enough not long after that we saw four bears! Right on the side of the road walking in the trees. Carter had just fallen asleep so he missed it. I was so excited I forgot to open the lens cover on our video cam so no video for us (or you). So sad. But, Jason got some great pics. I loved seeing the bears, it was fun and exciting!
On our way home we stopped in Missoula, MT. Its a great town. We really liked it. We tried to visit a cool bike shop (it was huge!) that was right next to the river and a nice B&B, but they were out ridin' and were unfortunately closed on Labor Day. What retailer is closed on Labor Day? Bike owners in Missoula that enjoy a sweet bike ride in the Montana mountains is who!
I recommend you go there before the glaciers melt, or even after. We read there are only 25% of the glaciers left from 1850. I must say, I was surprised and was expecting a lot more, but there are still quite a few. We want to go back sometime and take more time and spend around 5-7 days there, instead of 3.
Overall, EXCELLENT trip. We were exhausted when we got home. Carter cried pretty much the last two hours of the drive home, and Jason and I were almost crying too because we couldn't get him to calm down or sleep. But, he finally fell asleep maybe 40 miles away from Poky.

He's a new (little) man
Carter's hair had been getting quite long on the sides. I kinda loved how it curled and was wavy like Jason's gets when its longer, but I went for it and cut it yesterday because it was getting a little crazy at times! He looks so cute...both before and after!
Look at them chubby cheeks. Now there's some mama in him!!!
