And I got my compost bin! Thanks Jason for that and for a great birthday! He got me a cake and put the candles on backwards...as if I were turning 23. Good one.

Had a great dinner with the girls, then my Mom, Sis, and that side of the fam, and then with Jason's parents, Carter and I. Thanks Lai, Brett, and the boys for coming to town to celebrate. That was very sweet of you all.
Giving some BIG cheese!

Birth - Night
Well, Carter's birthday party was better than I could have imagined. Pizza, yummy cake, just a few dear family and friends. So wonderful. We had a very small party because 1) I'm not a great hostess, it stresses me out to host parties, and 2) I wanted to keep about Carter and not about having a "party." Of course I wanted to celebrate this amazing event, but we kept it low key. That's just the way we roll. The party was perfect and I think everyone had a blast. Can't believe this amazing boy of ours is 1.
The cake
My friend I work with made the most amazing first birthday cake for Carter. Carter LOVES Elmo! She also made him the cutest little personal cake to dig into. And that he did. They also tasted even yummier than they looked. The big one was half and half; half chocolate and half vanilla. Yum yum.
Birth - Morn
Oops-a-daisy, this should've been posted before the last post. But, story of my blog (life), I'm quite disorganized when it comes to this blogging biz. But, I like it and it's the real me - a disorganized blogger, and let's not mention my speed typing issue...that my fingers can't keep up with my brain so I forget to type words because I get going so fast (and I know I often have poor grammar even though I try to avoid it)! Tee hee. Yep, that's the real me. Take it or leave it!
Here is our sweet Carter, the morn of his first birthday. Love his shaggy hair and his big blue eyes! He's such a handsome baby/boy/young man!
Birth - Day
We started out Carter's first birthday with some yummo banana pancakes, since bananas are his fave. Breakfast was very fun and delicious. Next, we turned his car seat around to face the way all the rest of the people in the car face - FORWARD! This sounds silly, but is a big deal. I mean, who wants to face backwards in the car? Boring! So, then Carter and I ran errands to check out life facing forward. Fun times.
Later in the day, after nap time, we went over to a little local petting zoo because it was such a nice day out. Carter enjoyed all the animals and loved swinging. We ran into Jason's friend, his daughter (4 months older than Carter), and wife, so that's who the little girl is in the pics below. Eric (the little girls dad) put her in the swing with Carter, it was hilarious. I think they both enjoyed it. You should've seen the brand new piglets there, they were so tiny and CUTE! It was the most enjoyable day!
Ellia...she was so cute (love the name too!)
Carter and Dad feeding the goat...
Oh, and we found out Carter is very afraid of slides. Not sure why. We've got to get him out to more parks for sure!!
